Hi Bob!
Here is a testimonial from one of our members who was not a boxer or athlete and is in her late 40s:
I had been working out in a gym for 5 years at Christmas time 2006. I was in a rut! I liked weight training but I was always told to get in "cardio" exercise. The machines bored me to tears and if you are honest, are not much of a workout. I took spin and aerobic classes but I always felt disconnected. It was just going through the motions. We were were like "monkeys" jumping around for the sake of exercise.

My husband had been saying to me "you should really try boxing training at PrimeTime" Bob (playfully know there as "Bob o") had made the switch to PrimeTime 4 years earlier. I finally said "OK I will try it for one month" And I have never left! But I was sooo nervous that first month. I'll never forget it. I kept thinking "what have I gotten myself in to?" I wasn't a stranger to working out but everything about boxing training was so different. I quickly learned though that the difference was what I had been craving! Instead of being an "unknown" at the back of a class, I now felt a part of a group. There is a wonderful camaraderie between the teachers and students. And we are learning the "sweet science" rather than just jumping around for the sake of! bring up our heart rates. The work out is intense, but gratifying because we are mastering technique, form and rhythm. It is a fun place to be as well. The upbeat atmosphere and music are great for motivation. I am hooked! My stamina and strength have never been better. I am in the best shape I have ever been in. And the one thing I said I would hate "putting on boxing gloves and hitting the bag" is my favorite part!!! Hitting that bag is a great stress reducer and fabulous for firming the back of the arms! I continue to set new goals and advance myself. The advice I would give to a new comer? "Step out of your comfort zone and try it. And once you're there, stick with it for a while and you will be hooked too" The benefits far out weigh any excuses!

Hi Cary,

Please describe what your workout experience would be like for a non-boxing, non-athletic beginner. Thanks!
